What changes when someone owns the details?
Follow the infrastructure from its first connection to its next change. See how our projects, field methodology, and ongoing management work together.

Do I need ongoing management to work with LAYER1?
No. You can engage LAYER1 for a standalone repair, survey, installation, remediation, or project. Ongoing infrastructure management is a separate choice for businesses that want continued accountability and support.
We already have IT. Where does LAYER1 fit?
LAYER1 focuses on the infrastructure and field work behind your connected environment. We coordinate with your IT team, facilities team, carriers, and project partners, with responsibilities clearly established for the engagement.
Can you use the layout and equipment plan we already have?
Yes. Integration & Implementation is intended for an established business layout and device plan. We review requirements and apply the LAYER1 infrastructure methodology to the installation supporting it.
Can you help with an existing network that is difficult to understand?
Remediation establishes existing conditions, traces the agreed connections, corrects deficiencies, and creates a useful record. The work is planned around operating requirements and agreed change windows.
What does a management program include?
Your program defines the assets LAYER1 manages and brings their physical organization, digital records, managed changes, and local support together. Coverage, reporting, response arrangements, and preferred pricing for eligible work are established in your agreement. The S.P.E.C.T.R.A. preview shows the digital platform being developed to support this relationship.
What makes a LAYER1 installation easier for your technicians to understand?
S.P.E.C. Standard guides the organization of network infrastructure throughout the building. Our proprietary S.P.E.C. Identification System and color-coded patch cables support clear, consistent identification. Our technicians know the methodology and prepare with available site records. An unmanaged site must first be assessed and verified to establish a dependable baseline.
What is S.P.E.C.T.R.A., and who can access it?
S.P.E.C.T.R.A. is the digital management platform LAYER1 is developing to organize site and project records, including proposals, scopes, materials lists, photos, test results, field notes, and revision history. The customer portal is its customer-facing view. Customer and site separation are fundamental requirements; access is intended only for authorized people and the information assigned to them. The examples on this site are product previews, not live customer accounts.
Can we provide our existing drawings and records?
Yes—existing plans, as-builts, photographs, and records help LAYER1 understand your site and project. S.P.E.C.T.R.A. is being designed to support document delivery through the customer portal or email, giving your team a convenient way to share information. Contact LAYER1 to arrange document delivery for your current inquiry.
What will S.P.E.C.T.R.A. Assist help with?
Assist’s V1 focus is finding authorized infrastructure records, understanding documented changes, and preparing informed requests with supporting sources available. Future development includes support for ticketing, communications, and the S.P.E.C. Stack technician field app, with an emphasis on simplifying routine processes and automating repeated tasks. Assist is in development; these examples are product previews, not a live customer service.
How do you keep the records current when something changes?
Ongoing management includes maintaining records that reflect the work LAYER1 manages at your site. A useful history of changes, field notes, and supporting documents helps your team understand the current infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and prepare future projects. Let LAYER1 know about work performed by others so your site information can stay current.
Why are equipment and project prices quoted?
The right system depends on the site, existing equipment, coverage needs, installation conditions, and support scope. We establish the requirements before preparing an appropriate recommendation and quotation.
What information should I have ready?
Your location, the issue or desired outcome, relevant timing, and any available photos or plans are a useful starting point. If a connection or system is currently failing, call to discuss the situation and service availability.
